    How to use

    Firstly, remove all weeds from the bed or border. When the soil is moist, spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer of bark around the plants.

    For pathways: Pine bark nuggets provide a stable surface and safe footing, even when wet. Spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer over the weed free surface. Covers an area 2.5m × 0.5m at 5cm.

    For beds and borders: Remove all weeds from the bed or border. Apply when the soil is moist. Spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer of bark around plants.

    Vitax Micro-porous Perlite Granules – 20 Litre is a naturally occurring volcanic rock which, when heated to high temperatures, produces lightweight micro-porous granules.

    When mixed with compost, Perlite holds water and nutrients within the compost, producing a healthier growing media.

    Perlite can be used for seed starting, rooted cuttings, potting-on or planting out.

    If using for seed starting, Perlite’s structure maintains moisture and temperature levels.

    Its bright white colour provides protection against bright sunlight and high radiant energy. It also reflects light under the plants’ foliage to encourage growth.

    Perlite usage

    • Mix with soil when planting out to help hold water and nutrients close to the root system
    • Use alone for seed germination

    Vitax Grower Traditional Pot Bedding Compost is formulated for raising bedding pots, trays, hanging baskets, containers and tubs.

    Vitax’s traditional pot bedding compost is produced from graded Irish Moss Peat harvested from their own peat mire, and blended at their plant in County Kildare, Ireland.

    It has a pH of 6 so is well-suited to supporting all species of plants.

    The peat is medium age, light brown colour, and provides excellent aeration and unmatched water-holding capacity.

    This nutrient-rich composition fosters robust root systems, vibrant foliage, and increased flower and fruit production.

    This compost has excellent aeration qualities, preventing soil compaction and enhancing oxygen circulation to plant roots. This aids in improving soil structure and overall soil health.
