    Vegetable Seeds – Climbing French Bean Lazy Housewife is a delicious, stringless, heritage variety that has outstanding flavour and texture.

    Originally introduced in 1885, Lazy Housewife is the first bean that doesn’t require de-stringing, hence the name.

    The young stringless pods can be cooked whole, requiring little or no preparation, or delicious shelled beans can be dried and stored when mature.

    Young pods have a delicious buttery flavour whilst the dried beans have a creamier and heavier flavour.

    Vegetable Seeds – Climbing French Bean Hunter is an RHS award-winning variety that produces abundant crops of bright green, white-seeded, almost stringless beans.

    Bean Hunter combines the dependable heavy harvest of runner beans with the tenderness and reliability of traditional French Beans, Hunter French beans have become a staple in many British vegetable plots.

    The beans grow to about 12 inches (30 cm) long.

    The plants grow well both under protection and outdoors, and can be inter-planted with peas and runner beans.

    Like all French beans, this variety freezes well.

    They’re also great for drying and using as haricot beans. And of course, they taste great both raw and cooked.

    These are a climbing bean, so make sure to provide them a trellis, canes, or other support.

    Mature beans can be shelled from the pods and dried, prepared and served as dried flageolet or cannellini.

    Lingua di Fuoco literally translates as Tongue of Fire and can be eaten young in the pod, either raw or cooked, or they can be shelled and used like a flageolet bean, or shelled and dried.

    The beautiful red speckling disappears when cooked.
