Herb Seeds – Sage – Salvia Officinalis is a bushy, spreading evergreen sub-shrub with a very aromatic flavour and finely veined, grey-green leaves.

This strongly-scented, iconic herb is used in our fabulous favourite, sage and onion stuffing.

Sage is perfect for adding a wonderful, invigorating flavour to a wealth of many vegetable, meat or fish dishes while the fresh or dried leaves make a satisfying, healthy, soothing tea.

Sage is packed full of nutrients, antioxidants, and also has other medicinal qualities.

It performs best in a warm, sunny and sheltered situation and easily blends-in with other ornamental plants.

Sage produces short spikes of pale blue flowers in early summer and is the perfect way to attract many types of pollinating insects to your garden!

Herb Seeds – Purple Loosestrife – Lythrum Salicaria produces tapering spikes of delightful purple-red flowers and has useful medicinal properties.

The flowers and leaves make an excellent gargle, wound-cleanser and helps to rapidly stop bleeding.

Purple loosestrife has long been used in traditional medicine as a treatment for diarrhoea, chronic intestinal infections, catarrh, haemorrhoids, eczema, varicose veins and bleeding of the gums.

It flowers from June to August and has dark green willow-like leaves.

This plant is best suited to boggy/wet locations so is ideal for ponds and water featues.

Purple loosestrife is pollinated by bees and butterflies as these are both long-toungued insects.

This variety features tapering spikes of purple-red flowers from June – August and dark green willow-like leaves.

This plant produces beautiful flowers and are the perfect way to attract many types of pollinating insects to your garden!

Herb Seeds – Lemon Balm – Melissa Officinalis is a bushy herb that resembles mint with leaves having an invigorating lemon flavour and scent when crushed.

The aromatic foliage can be used to make a refreshing lemon balm, used to make tea or added to soups and oils for a tangy lemon flavour.

Lemon balm flowers are particularly attractive to bees giving rise to its other name, bee balm.

Similarly to mint, this hardy perennial herb has a vigorous habit and is best restricted by growing in a container and prefers full sun.
