Ornamental Seeds – Sunflower Helianthus Taiyo produces single, large flower heads with yellow-orange petals and rich chocolate centres.
Taiyo is a hardy annual, heritage, Japanese non-branching variety that develops large flowers approximatery 15-25cm (6-10in) in diameter.
It was developed for cut-flower use, however, equally enjoyable when planted in drifts towards the back of your beds and borders to add some structural colour and texture.
The seed kernels are edible, tasty and healthy once toasted.
Very easy to grow. Sow straight into the soil after the last frosts.
Height: 150-183cm (60-72in). Spread: 46cm(18in).
