Bark chippings are perfect for creating low maintenance beds and borders by reducing the need for frequent weeding and therefore the amount of time spent weeding.
Mulch is also very effective at slowing evaporation so helping keep your soil moist during dry weather.
It can also be used to create rustic, natural pathways through your garden creating a more wild look.
Perfect for filling in any gaps between loosely arranged slabs, crazy paving and stepping-stones.
Additionally, this product is produced from responsible conifer plantations which are grown for the timber industry and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
How to use
Firstly, remove all weeds from the bed or border. When the soil is moist, spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer around the plants.
For pathways: Bark provides a stable surface and safe footing, even when wet. Spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer over the weed free surface. Covers an area 2.5m × 0.5m at 5cm.
For beds and borders: Remove all weeds from the bed or border. Apply when the soil is moist. Spread a 5cm (2in) deep layer around plants.
Coverage
3m² on a 2.5cm deep bark ground coverage, or 1.5m² on a 5cm deep bark ground coverage.
